Studio Louis Kaufman is a boutique design practice committed to meticulously considered homes, each distinguished by a discerning sense of place, a deep respect for tradition, and a profound embrace of craft.

Working across architecture, interiors, landscape, lighting, and furnishings, the studio brings both classical and modern sensibilities to the making of a house. The resultant dwellings look simultaneously backward and forward, grounding contemporary life within an enduring architecture imbued with memory, meaning, and ritual.

The practice is based in Hailey, Idaho, and has designed houses throughout North America, the Pacific, and Europe.

Louis Kaufman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design from UCLA and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. He is licensed to practice architecture in Idaho and California, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
